Tingly all over … that’s the sensation all drivers get before heading out on track. It’s that buzz, that rush of adrenaline that makes the whole experience a blast for newcomers and “old hats” alike. Don’t believe us? Well, maybe you’ll believe Randy Pobst, one of the winningest pro racers in North America with numerous sports car championships to his credit. Randy recently joined in the fun at a few SCCA Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack events to again capture that buzz even after 30 years of racing.
“There’s an air of excitement, anticipation and a general party atmosphere at SCCA Track Night in America,” Pobst said. “SCCA Track Night in America isn’t about competition. The event is simply about light-hearted fun and enjoying your car on a track in a relatively safe environment.”
SCCA Track Night in America participants are divided into Novice, Intermediate or Advanced groups so on-track time remains fun for everyone. Pobst said this is an excellent way to offer track access in a guided fashion because those with previous experience can turn laps as they wish while novices are provided plenty of guidance from knowledgeable SCCA staff.
“For the novice, SCCA Track Night in America is an adventure,” Pobst said. “Drivers new to the track are allowed
to progress at their own comfortable pace without the pressure of an in-car coach pushing them to find braking points or an apex. SCCA Track Night in America is a place for people to fulfill their need for speed in a controlled environment rather than by taking risks on everyday streets.”

Oh, yeah, Christopher Olson, that's Dustin Stephenson's ST. I really enjoy how they are drifty, even though FWD. Good luck!
